Leo slept peacefully for a few hours. It was just past midnight (or so he thinks) when he woke up due to grumbling in his belly.

He sighed and looked up at Shizan only to see that he was still asleep.

He sighed again. He didn't want to want to wake Shizan up, but he was hungry and he couldn't get food on his own in his current condition. He wasn't even sure what plants would be safe to eat seeing as they're the only things he'd be able to get in his condition and he didn't do the gathering while in the group.

"Hey Shizan, wake up," Leo said quietly and gently shook Shizan.

Shizan groans and looks at Leo clearly still sleepy. "Huh what's up Leo?"

"I'm hungry," Leo said and pouted. "I'm sorry to wake you up at this time of night but I don't know what plants I can eat and I can't exactly hunt in my current condition either."

[Okamiryun]

Shizan nods and gets up turning into a jaguar and runs off finding jungle fowl. He brings back five and gets a fire started "is this enough?"

"It should be," Leo said nodding and sat up a bit. "Do you want any help?"

Shizan "with the cooking yes." He plucks the chickens

"Alright, I'll get the fire going while you get them ready," Leo said and got up to prepare the fire. "What did you catch this time and what do they taste like?"

[Okamiryun]

Shizan smiles "jungle fowl the wild chicken basically " he plucks more of them

"It's a good thing my dad cooked a lot of chicken--as well as pork--back before all this happened," Leo said with a smile as he got the fire going and tended to it in order to keep it going.

[Okamiryun]

Shizan hands him the plucked chickens and keeps plucking the others "what was your father like?"

"It's....complicated," Leo said as he prepared the wild chickens that Shizan just plucked to be cooked. He was going to wait to tel Shizan, but they're mates now and going to be having kits soon so now would be the best time to tell Shizan. "I felt like I was the slave and he was my owner: I had to do everything and he just sat back and did nothing. Unless he yelled at me for not doing what I was supposed to do or if there was something to be done that he'd prefer to do himself like cooking, mowing the lawn, etc. My brother felt the same way. At least that's what he has told me.

"I've been trying to break away from his control and be able to do whatever I want to do when I want to do it, but haven't been able to. Until now. Now I can do everything and anything without worrying about him yelling at me for not doing what he wanted me to do."

[Okamiryun]

Shizan hugs him "even if he comes here he won't ever harm you again." He kisses him his tail twitches angrily (maybe he should pop up some time?)

(Sure. I was thinking maybe closer to the birth? Maybe Leo's dad does something that induces the labor? What do you think?)

Leo smiled and returned Shizan's kiss.

"Guard jaguar on duty from now on," Leo said jokingly and placed his head against Shizan's chest as he waited for the wild chickens to cook. "Thank you anyway. Just don't kill him unless either I tell you or he does something that provokes you to kill him, okay?"

[Okamiryun]

Shizan nods and purrs "can I at least break his legs? So he can't walk to you" he strokes Leo's hair while watching the fire.

Leo sighs.

"You can hurt him but not badly enough that he can't get out of here," Leo said more sadly this time. "Besides, I don't think he'll be able to find his way here. I don't think anyone else can in order to save the others and get them out of here."

[Okamiryun]

Shizan nods "ok I won't hurt him that bad then, But I will protect you from him. No one is allowed to hurt you ever. Even my father will help me protect you" he kisses Leo and smiles

Leo smiled and returned the kiss. "Like I said earlier, guard jaguar on duty from now on," Leo said still smiling and snuggled up to Shizan.

Shizan smiles "and I'll always guard you cus I love you so much" he nuzzles Leo and kisses him.

Leo returns Shizan's kiss and snuggles further into his embrace. His stomach the grumbled again as he began to smell something burning.

"Oh crap! The chickens are burning!" Leo said frantically and jumped up to take the chickens off the fire. They were a blackened, charcoal mess but still looked somewhat edible to Leo. Leo shrugged. "Oh well. I can still eat them."

Shizan "oopes I'm sorry I should of been watching" he puts the last two chickens on a spit "least these two will be good" he sighs
