Scott sat on the couch with Riley in his arms, whispering his love to the newborn fledgling.

Lance came out quickly as he had promised and sat down the couch beside Scott who was smiling at him. He fidgeted and asked "so... how do I put my habds?"

"As you would when holding a human infant," Scott replied, gently positioning Lance's arms before settling Riley against the human's chest. Riley shifted for a moment before curling against the human with a content sigh.

"He is so.... light and fragile. I.. i feel like I would crush him." Lance froze with the child in his arms, completely out of place. "Do I .. pat him or what?"

"You won't crush him, he's an angel. He may be young, but he is still quite powerful," Scott explained. "You just hold him. You haven't held an infant before?"

"No.... well not as young. I held my cousin's child but that's like when she was already a toddler? Like she would squirm and laugh and run away...."

"Riley is very calm, you can simply hold him. I can take him back if you would like."

[bhdire8]

"No! Erm.. I can handle this." Lance looked down at the look of wholly dependence on him and felt himself falling for the tiny angel.

Scott nodded, staying quietly at Lance's side as Riley cracked open his eyes, bright blue orbs peering at the human above him with a small coo.

"Look he is looking at me!! Hello little Riley, nice to meet you. I am Lance and I was there when you were born. Priviledged to be the first human you get to meet."

A little smile graced Riley's features before the infant fell asleep again, nuzzling into Lance for warmth.

Lance found himself naturally patted the baby. After awhile he looked up at Scott, unsure if he wanted to take him back, though he had to admit he quite enjoyed that.

Scott simply watched his son and the man he was developing feelings for, seeing how comfortable Riley already was with the human.

Seeing no action from Scott's side Lance continued with teh rocking, leaning back on the couch and got mroe comfrotable. He had gotten used to the baby now he could handle it less stiffly.

"You're good with him," Scott praised softly, reaching over to gently stroke Riley's wings.

"More like the other way round I guess, he is a good kid so I can handle him." Lance smiled and responded. "He will grow up at the same rate as a human baby?"

[lxcttrll]

"He should, though I'm unsure. There's a very small record of fledglings," Scott replied, leaning down to press a kiss to his infant's forehead.

"So what's your plan for the future? What do you need to raise him?" Lance asked.

[lxcttrll]

"I don't know," Scott sighed, looking away. "I can hide his wings along with my own, so I could easily raise him as a human child if he ages the same way."

[bhdire8]

"is there any chance that you will rrturn to heaven? or are you going to stay here.. even let Riley grow up with other human kids?"
