Season of the Hunt (Closed with star478, Possibly NSFW)

"Oh, I see..." He looked at the back room, thinking of the computer that was in there.

"Well, I guess wait it out. As far as honorary....that's an understatement. You practically took my girlfriend's spot in the pack. I mean I marked you and everything judging from what happened last night." He examined Leo for a few. "As far as babies, your guess is as good as mine. We have litters that usually vary from the normal wolf size to a little bit more since we're much larger than normal wolves."

"Well, at least I just need to listen to you and whoever the Alpha is, right?" Leo said and looked at Brayden with nervousness about being a part of the pack in his eyes. There was also an uncertainty to his voice. He has no clue what it means to be a part of a werewolf pack, especially for those that are the mates of werewolves. "Is there anything else I should know about being your mate and incidentally replacing your girlfriend?"

((Not closing the thread, but noticed your sig. I'm perfectly fine with waiting for the end of the semester as I'm in a similar situation.))

((Sounds perfectly fine with me. I need to focus on my school work more anyhow...Damn Marvel: Avenger's Alliance on Facebook always distracting my from my school work! Grrr....))

((lol no worries. I wish I could even play that right now, but the dorm's connection is iffy, so I'm doing what I can on the phone. I hope everything goes well for you this year.))

((lol sounds like my internet connection at my dorm is better than your's. :P Hope everything goes well for you this semester as well. We shall continue this once the semester for both of us has finished.))

(( lol, anyone's connection at this point sounds better. It was working the day I got an ethernet cord. Afterwards, not so much. I have to keep using Portable wifi from my phone to use the laptop. Well, see you until then. Maybe I can figure out how to piece my story together before then lol))

((Alrighty then. See you--via the internet of course hehe--when the semester ends for the both of us. Hope your semester goes well!))

(Just so you know, my semester has finished already. I don't know if your's has so....I don't know how soon we can continue, but I'm ready whenever you are. Just thought I'd let you know.)

(Cool. I've been on break since Thursday, but just have been taking a break for a little. If you're ready to continue, I will post shortly)

(Irony. I've been on break since Thursday as well and only recently told you as such. But yes, I am ready to continue.)

Brayden shrugged. "It looks like I covered everything" of course listening tp the Alpha was idea, but.that did not mean they had to agree on everything hence why he had his own pack. "I regrettably have to say that if your friend does not recover, well heck, you in general....All of this is really complicated not just for us (werewolves), but your family as well as his. Neither of us are friendly with each other." He stared up at the ceiling almost as if he could see what was going on in the room.

(Alright. I completely crashed Thursday night after my last finals lol)

(I kinda couldn't as I had to finish packing to come home for break. But I did crash once I got home though.)

Leo sighed and ran his finger along the rim of his coffee cup as he tried to formulate his response.

"I know you don't see--let alone love--me the same way you saw/loved your girlfriend," Leo began softly assuming Brayden's wolf-like hearing would be able to pick up what he is saying, "but if I go back to my family while I'm pregnant, they'll probably kill me along with the babies. If they don't, they'd either toss me out into the cold thus putting the babies in danger, cut me open to get the babies out in a forced abortion, or find some way to force me to miscarry the babies. Neither of those situations are ideal."

He then sighed again as he refused to look at Brayden for what Leo feared he might see in Brayden's face and eyes.

"Seeing as I can't go back just yet, especially without Trevor, would it be alright if I hung around here until the babies are born? I-If I'm able to leave when they're born, I'll leave and let you take care of them. I have no idea what will happen the next time whatever happened last night happens again, but I'd rather chance that than chance going back to my family while pregnant with werewolf babies. Who knows how my family would react to that?"

Brayden scratched the back of his neck nervously. Sure, he could be like some wolves, hopping from one mate to another, but he could not get into a habit like that. He was a bit old fashioned. Did that mean he could do the same for Leo. He really shuddered at the thought, but he could not turn him away. "Makes it even complicated when one intends to keep the mother of his children as his wife, huh?"

He was nervous, but Leo's words made him shake his head. "Well you kinda can't leave right away. Unfortunately, we share something in common with wolves when born. Well canines as a whole: the pups won't survive without being around their mother"

His mind focused back on the male upstairs as he.began to refill his cup witj the deep dark brown coffee. What could he tell him if he awoke. Unlike Leo, the male was not technically a werewolf unless they counted the fact he was marked entirely. Maybe when the lycan found out, he had tried to do away with him. The point was that Trevor had every memory of it all. "Staying upstairs in the condo may be your best move. Your family can't invade up there at least." Brayden waited on the Alpha to respond back, but until then he had to go with his own instincts: He would not let Leo head back to enemy territory with his kids well way into development.

"Would be less complicated if I was a female," Leo mumbled still staring at his empty coffee mug.

Leo's heart sank when he heard Brayden's next words. He had hoped to be able to leave, like, the day after the babies were born. Apparently that won't be able to happen.

He sighed and looked at the ceiling and where he will call home for the next month...may be longer. Maybe being stuck up there won't be such a bad idea after all. Besides, he'll probably end up being bed ridden by the end anyhow.

He returned his attention to his coffee mug.

"You know, I never really fit int with the rest of my family anyhow," Leo said, still avoiding eye contact with Brayden. "They liked to hunt and held a grudge against you werewolves for whatever reason. Me, well, I don't like hunting--as I already told you--and as for the grudge against you werewolves....I did hold one when I was younger, but I've outgrown it.

"Look, I don't expect you to treat me the way you treated your girlfriend and I understand that."

He then stood up and walked over to Brayden, handing him his coffee mug.

"If you don't mind, I'm going to go up and check on Trevor," Leo said and began making his way upstairs without waiting for a response from Brayden.

Brayden listened to Leo. "It's not just us werewolves this holy crusade of hunters hunt. They're after anything mythological to human eyes." He looked at Leo. "As religious as I am, I don't get where we are an abomination." Hopefully he did not offend the other. "Younger? I thought the hunters never showed you anything until you reached a certain mature age?"

Brayden did not know how that all worked out. Instead, set the cup on the counter, leading Leo back upstairs. When they returned, his pack was sitting outside the room Trevor was in. Aside from the slight panicky tones about the injured male not waking up, Brayden could not worry too much. Instead, he walked in the room, seeing the male secured under covers and numerous wrappings. When you were the Supernatural and on the run from hunters, it was best to prepare.

Trevor breathing fully was a good sign, but his wounds not healing rapidly was another.

"The majority of humans don't have as open of a mind like I do," Leo said as Brayden lead him to the room where Trevor was being treated. Upon seeing the nervous faces of the other members of Brayden's pack, Leo became nervous as well. Along with overly worried about Trevor.

He followed Brayden into the room and nearly bowled him over upon seeing the state Trevor was in. Once Brayden got out of the way, Leo rushed over to Trevor's side and grasped his hand, tears already falling down his cheek.

"I'm so, so sorry Trevor," Leo choked out through his tears. "I should have told you to remain behind or...or something. It's all my fault that you're in the state you're in. please, buddy, wake up. I never meant to drag you into the punishment I'm receiving for killing the mate of a werewolf. Please, if you can hear me, wake up."

Leo gently squeezed Trevor's hand as he finally just broke down and let the tears flow freely and unchecked.

Brayden watched as Leo beat himself up a little over his downed friend. With nothing but a light squeeze to Leo's hand, Trevor was really out cold. Brayden pulle Leo away from him after watching for several minutes. "Don't beat yourself up over this. It happened." It was a bit nonchalant, but Brayden had seen dead bodies before. "Knowing he's alive should be enough for you" he said escorting Leo back to his room, closing the door behind him.

Damien yawned in the cold, untying his long dark brown hair as it fell down to his shoulders. He pulled his phone out, reading the text from Brayden about a certain rare incident occurring. The male walked down the road, the cafe in his sight.

((Short post, but I've been a bit tied up. Hopefully I can get back into it))

(It's okay man. Especially since it's the holidays and work--if you have a job--and all that stuff, so I can understand why you're tied up at the moment. Just reply whenever you can. I have it set up so that I receive an e-mail whenever you reply, so I'll know when you reply and will be able to write my own reply...once I can think of something to write as my reply and if I can have the time between helping my parents with odd jobs around the house.)

Leo's heart slowly rose back into his chest when he felt the squeeze of his hand by Trevor. Sure it was only a light squeeze that could barely be considered a squeeze, but it was a aqueeze nonetheless, which gave Leo hope that Trevor might, just might, survive after all.

He wiped his eyes on his wrist as Brayden pulled him to his feet. He nodded his head slightly and followed Brayden back to the room they woke up in that morning.

"So, do we wait for the Alpha--whoever he is--in here or are going to go downstairs and wait for him there?" Leo asked as he sat on the bed, unsure of where else he could sit. He then began kicking his heels slightly against the frame of the bed that was covered by the sheets that fell over the side slightly. "I'll be honest, I'm rather nervous about meeting the Alpha. I've read that some can be rather....commanding towards the others. Plus, it doesn't help that I wasn't 100% completely sure if werewolves actually existed or not. That is, until now."

(Well not work for the most part, but errands among other things as well as trying to recover from some sinus issues. At least I pray that is what they are. Merry Christmas to you in case I don't get the chance to say so if I am not on tomorrow.)

Brayden stared at the sleeping male one more time before closing the door slightly. He motioned for Cassandra to keep an eye on him. He closed the door to his room, grabbing the remote to the television as it flickered on.

"Damian isn't that bad among the others at least." The channels began to change until it stopped on the local news. The female reporter was out in the snow with at least two ambulances behind her. As she spoke, his eyes glanced over to see bodies being zipped up prompting him to change quickly, the next channel landing on The Hangover. "Ironic he thought as his mind focused on what Leo had to say, a smirk forming on his face. "Oh, but the lot of us exist, from the most known zombies plaguing New Orleans to vampires scattering everywhere like us. Heck, mermaids, minotaurs, anything Greek. They all exist. It's your family, his family, and a bunch of more that have a problem with it though."

A knock came to the door as Brayden rose from the bed, walking towards the door. When it opened, Damian walked right in.

"I got the message. What's the issue?"

"Him over there" he rose his hand as he pointed at Leo.

"What about hi---" Damian stopped asking as he walked over to Leo. The male grabbed him quickly as he inhaled deeply. "Why does he smell like he's pregnant?" He stared at Brayden for a few before looking at Leo. "Oh.....you are aren't you?" He let Leo go from his sudden and cold grasp as he stepped back to assess what was going on.
