"I have no idea!" Montparnasse cried, gritting his teeth and leaning back as far as he could to try to take some of the pressure off of his hips; it didn't work. But if the baby was coming, he would have to remove his pants, right...? He fumbled with his trousers, which, thankfully, were already open; he hadn't been able to dress properly in months.
