Cornelias sat, curling his tail around his talons. He was still taller than Sean, but didn't care. "I grew up in the Black Smith Forest. It was beautiful there. I hatched as Cornelia, my parents raised me until I was 15. That's the general time in my species for gestation, that is when you are old enough to morph, and find a mate and breed. My time came and went. My parents left me, since in our culture that is when you are an adult. I was either going to die, morph finally and or find a mate that was willing to breed with me as I was. I found none until I was 16." Cornelias sighed remembering those old feelings. " At sixteen I finally morphed. This is what I got..." he looked down at himself, then up again at Sean. " I was a late bloomer and a freak. No one in the forest had ever heard of a hermaphrodite Griffin, and there I was. I couldn't stay, there were no mates available, or willing to breed with me. 'What if our eggs came out like you.' I left and went into a high school near here. Graduated early, I'm really smart. Went to a college, graduated again and became a professor." Cornelias smiled, "My life's' story in a nutshell."
