He looked to his body. "I wanted to protect them, to care for all three them. That's why I built this body. I wanted to be strong enough to take whatever came our way. This is a father's body...and now the body of a future mother. It's proof of my better qualities, and I don't intend to waste away." He flexed to emphasize the point, but he wavered at a naughty twist of the idol inside him. "I know you mentioned that you don't like my body hair. It grew as my muscles grew, but that wasn't the plan. I don't mind if you make my skin bare, but I am fond of the beard. My time as a father and husband was good to me, and I'd like to remember it with the first sign I had that I was truly of the character to...to care for other people than myself. Not out of obligation, but out of love. It's a good beard.
