Darius watched Tobias eat heartily of the fruit. He downed the slice that would change his memories removing the bad and replacing it with only what he needed. He smiled at Tobias' acceptance of this magic and the cutting of those memories that caused him pain. The court, the Queen, the King-Consort, Tobias' mind wiped that and replaced those dark memories with those of the simple life his mind built for himself after his exile. He lived from birth until now, the life of a simple logging man from a long line of loggers. He only knew the life that allowed him to see the beauty of the forest, how it supported his livelihood as long as humans respected and cared for the trees.
Darius kissed his cherished' lips tasting the sweetest of the new memories. Logging, the village, a simple life, the times the village girls overlooked this man for another. A woman with two sons and a handsome, red headed husband that lived close to him.
"You have always loved to learn, my cherished," he whispered before his hands moved to Tobias' chest. "As your body develops and expands so will your mind."
