Tobias didn't say anything when he was moved to the infirmary, he just made pained noises and clutched at his stomach. He relaxed when he was given some Med-X, cutting down on his pain, but his modified anatomy made his misscarriage a bit more complicated than normal. Even though he was born like this, his anatomy was still the result of artificial modification of his parents. The doctor was worried when he found traces of modified FEV in his blood as well.
Half of the hospital hadn't collapsed yet, allowing Caleb a chance to find the medicine Tobias needed. The old building was eerily quiet, only the sound of radroaches scuttling through the walls could be heard. Many of the signs were still intact, pointing to the upper floors for the lab most likely to contain his goal. A few skeletons inhabited the lobby and various rooms, silently telling their story from the moment the bombs fell. Mothers with children, couples in a final embrace, groups laying by the doors to the pharmacy.
As he would move further up the building, Caleb would find signs that someone or something had been there. Footprints in the dust, a few dead and half-eaten radroaches. Then there was the final sign of what was living in the old hospital, a dead feral ghoul, partially consumed by other ghouls. Their shuffling footsteps echoed through the halls, followed by their grunts and growls, as if they were communicating with one another. The dead ghoul had the remains of a doctor's lab coat on, showing the ferals were likely what was left of the medical staff, too dumb to leave the building...But incredibly dangerous to anyone exploring.
