He could go in and investigate the house itself, but what was truly the point? As Antonio looked onward with his own investigation and with D'Anton doing the same shortly afterwards, the crime had gone from being inside the house itself to outside, rather. Everything they truly needed to know at this point was out there with them in the cold winter night among the farmlands. If ever there was a good time to hear little children make mention of He Who Hides Behind the Rows or for signs to be drilled into the crops of corn, now was totally the occasion. That did not help his mind any when the mention of the trail extending out towards the fields itself appeared and D'Anton sighed with a slight partial frustration. Of course this couldn't just be a regular investigation and solving of a crime. Of course, they had to go out and check the trail of slimy goo because somebody's antics dictated they had nothing better to do with their time other than heckle two officers on a wild a goose chase.
"If this is one of those kids again," he stated, thinking back on the last set of pranks pulled for them to prove their point. "They're sitting in a cell with Pat."
Pat was not in jail all the time, essentially. He was one of their very own officers in blue, who usually did a sort of stunt in order to scare certain individuals back to a path far away from crime. Surely this would be the exact same case at this point as if on the offchance the female who called was not a part of the scam, D'Anton was looking at not just reckless endangerment, but forced entry and a few other charges that could ascertain to a huge waste of his time ultimately. Still, he followed closely beside Antonio. There was no need to complain about anything as they were all the way out here now. All he could do was get to the bottom of the investigation, get back to his burrito and coffee if they had not run cold by now and get back to his small condo when his shift was completely over. As they went just a little further, the dark skinned male couldn't help but chuckle a bit when seeing perhaps a small, but huger amount of slime on the ground so much that it was partially thick to step on when he failed to notice it. Thankfully, he didn't slip, but it certainly felt thick in form. Thick and slimy.
"It's a good thing I don't care about shoes. Somebody would be owing me a new set right about now. I hope none of this is that crazy glue they used the last time though."
