((Sorry for the slight delay. I had a cold and was recovering as a result.))
D'Anton couldn't argue with that logic. As long as someone highly responsible for the crimes were behind bars by the end of the night, he could consider it a job well done. If maybe on the off chance that someone else was behind the scenes after any arrest was made, they would just have to thoroughly check the evidence some more before accidentally putting someone innocent behind the bars. Still, the more and more they went through the stalk, the more it was becoming obvious to him that some people were going a tad too far for such a prank. To be frank, it was beginning to unnerve him, which made him a bit more cautious about keeping his pistol steady, the male ready to fire should he need ever arise.
"Antonio," he stated. "I hate to be the illogical one here, but I'm beginning to suspect this is well beyond someone having too much time on their hand. I'm thinking that this had to be a group effort."
At least he was hoping that's what it had to be at the expense of his partner's sake. He didn't want to say what this was looking like, but the further and further they went, it just appeared certainly unnatural. That and the fact that there were now really deep within the corn fields. It was easy to get lost out there at this point. This had to be more than kids however, especially when the lights began to glow a little further in their direction. Ever the one to be on his guard however, he followed Antonio, a little behind the male. Hearing the strange language before him definitely reinforced how he felt as Antonio turned to look back at him.
"Maybe strange cultists," he questioned with a bit of tense nervousness. As they began to draw near, the sight of a large metal object, some type of building or maybe something else, sent his heart to a quick drop but soon quick pounding. He pulled the safety off his gun as he drew the hammer back. He wouldn't fire essentially, but he was on the ready, D'Anton nodding at Antonio before pulling the stalk back, authoritatively commanding whoever was on the other side "This is the police! Put your hands up where we can see them!"
Boy, why would he soon regret that?
