Getting back to the car was definitely his priority as well as Antonio's. They didn't go down the path of which they originally took, the one that was painstakingly obvious which would warrant the aliens themselves to follow in tow with a clear sight of their targets. They had to run through the fields that weren't properly parted as a result, which D'Anton had to swat a few stalks of corn from his face every now and then. The good thing was that it didn't feel like they were being pursued, but D'Anton had heard every story and seen every film. Whenever you stopped to catch your breath and turn back, it was when you were a goner and so as a result, he kept on running as fast as he could. There they were, however, at a clearing. They were coming out back towards the house. It was there the male had to catch his breath for a bit. He rested his hand on the wooden railing that led up to the backdoor steps of the house. He didn't think much about it until he pulled his hand back, noticing some of the slime on it and groaned in disgust, wiping it off his hand.
"Yea," he said with heavy breaths accented by the fact his breath carbonized into white smoke upon exiting his mouth. "Can't take chances."
Maybe it was just him getting a bit excited and thrilled, but his hand did feel a bit sensitive. He didn't pay it much attention however as he had to focus on him and Antonio getting out of there. Even though their car was just on the other side of the house and half a mile away from it as a result, they were still in proverbial hot water and not in the clear as a result. Far rue their day if they were like the typical lians however, complete with tractor beams that just pulled them away into the air. If they were however, surely they would have used them, but D'Anton couldn't help but wonder why it seemed like they were getting off easy. He shook that weird feeling beginning to spike in his hand away as he continued moving ahead with Antonio.
