Antonio also wondered just why they seemed to be getting out of this with no problems. They... They couldn't be out of the clear... Could they? Antonio glanced back towards the corn fields once again, at least to make sure those creatures weren't coming for them. He was getting paranoid at this point and he was pretty sure they weren't going to find that woman.. But what were they supposed to say to the others? They couldn't say aliens had captured her... No one would believe them... And yet a lie wouldn't be proper either.
Antonio picked through the yard at a slow pace, he didn't see any of the other cops they'd brought with them, oddly enough... He was a little unnerved by that as he recalled sending two or so back to call for backup. Approaching the car, he was ready to get in it and down the road, back to the office... But of course, he wasn't willing to leave the others behind. However.. Even if he'd intended on doing so, he couldn't. Reaching out to touch the car, automatically resulted in his hand hitting some.. Invisible wall. He frowned, attempting this again just to be sure he wasn't hallucinating, but he wasn't. He cursed under his breath, realizing that those aliens probably hadn't chased them because they'd already been planning on setting this trap. He almost didn't think hiding was worth it. They'd just find them, wouldn't they? Suddenly that phrase 'you can run, but you can't hide.' had come to mind.
Antonio turned back. "We can't get out of here." He said to D'Anton. "They've trapped us here!" By now, the corn ahead of them rustled as though their tormentors were finally coming through.
