“Think nothing of it,” Adam assured them. “If you hadn’t come, we might be contending to our chefs age long banters about a wobbly soup spoon right about now.”
The blond man chuckled, his gaze on Ethan for a bit, before shifting onward to look at Maor and naturally Carl. More so Maor though and what was around his neck. As for Maor, he noticed the awkward tension in the air. It was hard not to notice it given the gentleman mannerisms their hosts gave in a slight dark but candle lit room.
“So is that why they’ve made so much food,” he inquired. “I almost thought you were just going through all the odd trouble for two strangers.”
Adam felt it was best to let Carl answer that one, though he responded afterwards with “It’s only natural we reciprocate how we were raised, which means to treat our guests with utmost respect.”
As if to display such mannerisms, when Elaine returned with a tray of two bottles of wine and four flutes of wine glasses, Adam took the initiative to pour Ethan and himself a glass and most likely Carl did the same. Maor naturally thought of worst case scenario, sipping just a little of the blood red wine and having some of the soup and dessert. Maor wasn’t expecting them to be open books, but as they all talked, it was more like him and Ethan were giving better responses than their two “hosts” were.
“Most of our wealth comes from our vineyard,” Adam stated. “It’s why our mansion is a bit further from everyone else’s. Perhaps if you both aren’t busy tomorrow, we can take you out to see it. It’s hard to see much of it in the night.”
