Hector smiled everytime he received a message from Carter. This had been the first proper courting - or simply in a relationship, in more modern terms - in awhile. He almost forgot how sweet this could be. Carter really knew how to make him feel engaged. he replied when he could, keeping almost a constant stream of conversations. (LOL and i somehow feel a lot like Hector now with our back and forth... OOPs) He wasn't affected as much, but there would be times when he realised he was watching at his phone, waiting for that familiar vibration that signalled another message had arrived.
Hector did half expect they could meet up during the weekend, but it seemed like Carter was an exceptionally busy uni student. He was rather surprised when he received the next urgent text from Carter complaining about him being sick. Weighing on his options, he decided he might just as well abandone work for a quick visit to his fiance.
He had visited once, so the warden did not have much protest when he requested entrance to the dorm - espeically now that they were in braod daylight. He walked along the empty corridor to track down his room, and upon knocking he didn't hear a response.
"Carter...?" he asked, but there was still nothing. Trying the door, he didn't know whether to find it a good sign - ro should he blame Carter for not locking the door properly even when he was in the room. "Carter? it's me. Hector." he said, pushing the door open only to find the place rather messedu p - and the small frame of Carter on the bed.
He tiptoed towards the young man and tested his temperature. Hopefully this wouldn't be some fever...
