Starting a Family (Closed with BabbyDaddy)

"Oh my god! Jason! This is wonderful!" Lucy explained while showering her husband in hugs and kisses. "Thank you so much for this, sweetie. This is the start of a wonderful chapter in our lives."

Jason smiled warmly, but still did not speak as he locked lips with his wife. So much was swirling through his head. A baby...a big belly...painting a nursery...an ultrasound...birth...feeding... so many thoughts of his changing life darted through his head as he finally managed to speak.

"W-wow..."

"You need a minute?" Lucy asked thoughtfully. "I love you, honey."

"Yeah...I...we're-we're having a baby. Inside of me," he said quietly. Kissing her on the forehead, he pulled her into a deep embrace. "I love you so much," Jason whispered.

Lucy squeezed her husband as tight as she could, then lowered herself so she was on a level with his abdomen. "And I love you too, little one," she quickly lifted up his shirt and kissed his stomach before standing back up.

"You know it's just a collection of microscopic cells..." Jason said, but still smiled at the affection she gave his flat belly. He patted it affectionately before looking back to his wife.

"So...what now? We should schedule an appointment with a paternal doctor, right?" he asked.

"That doesn't make me love it any less," Lucy smiled. "I guess we do, if you want to make that call. We can go in in a week or two and see what they can tell us."

(Anything else we should do now, or keep moving on?)

(Figured this would be a spot to move on. We need a signal or something when we think a scene is over)

(Maybe a phrase or something? Also, where to? First doctor's appointment?)

(Maybe we can just say like "end soon" and then one of us can transition into the next scene a bit smoother. And first doctor's appointment sounds good.)

(Yeah, that sounds good)

Lucy and Jason sat in the waiting room of the clinic two weeks later, anticipating their turn to go back and get tested officially. She looked around and saw a few other couples--two other pregnant men with their wives, one pregnant woman, and even a couple who were pregnant together. "That'll be us soon," she smiled at her husband.

"Which one? Both of us? You're worrying me, Luc," Jason said teasingly. Still, though, he found it odd to see more pregnant men here. One of the men looked especially big- he had to have been in his final month. Jason was a bit scared. Was he going to get that big? He certainly hoped not.

After a few other couples went in, the nurse called out to them. "Jason?" she called, and Lucy helped her husband into the back, while the nurse weighed and measured him, and told him to sit on the exam table and wait for the doctor.

"I feel like the next time we're here, I won't exactly be flat-stomached," he said. The whole thing still seemed surreal. After all, there were no real signs of the pregnancy yet. No bump, no swollen pecs, no weight gain. Sure, he had some morning sickness, but other than that, he really didn't feel much.

"I know," Lucy answered. "We'll have a much more...definitive," she paused, pleased at finding a good word, "baby growing inside there." Soon enough, the doctor entered, and began asking questions about Jason's symptoms and current feelings about pregnancy.

(Do you mind playing the doctor, and having him/her ask the questions?)

(No, I didn't know how we were going to do that, but I can play the doctors/nurses from here on out)

"Alright, you must be Jason...aaand Lucy, very nice to meet you both," the doctor smiled as he introduced himself. "I'm Dr. Gregory Owens, paternal specialist. I'm very excited to be able to help you through this experience over the next couple of months. How are we all feeling today?"

"Nervous," answered Lucy. "But I guess you probably meant him," she said embarrassed as she nudged her husband.

(I'll play any characters you need me to as well)

"Pretty fine. I...well, don't even really feel pregnant. I've had morning sickness, but besides that... I feel like nothing's changed," Jason admitted.
