Leo nods and takes a deep breath to calm himself before answering Shizan's father--now his father-in-law.

"I'm just a human," Leo said as calmly as he could but his voice ended up shaking anyhow. "My herd that I came with and I do not have an animal form. But there are certain groups, or religions I can't remember which, that believe that we have animal spirits within us."

[Okamiryun]

The male smirks "Your clearly not one of these, so are you afraid of us animal types. Even with my son as your mate, you reek of fear."

"It's only because of the unknown," Leo said and moved closer to Shizan. "I feel comfortable around Shizan. But if I don't know something--like what you were talking about--I get scared as do the majority of my kind."

Leo hoped that Shizan's father would find him suitable for Shizan. He was already pregnant with Shizan's kits and he didn't want to have to leave Shizan while pregnant or even after the kits are born. He didn't want to leave the kits without a mother nor did he want to have to give birth to them all alone somewhere else in the forest.

Shizan holds Leo close trying to comfort him. He is glade that Leo is comfortable around him.

Shizans father nods and thinks "what would you do if an unknown attacked Your mate? what are your kind known to do?"

"Well," Leo said and looked up at Shizan. "If the attacker attacks Shizan, I'm pretty sure Shizan will be able to fend off the attacker. However, if the attacker would attack me for whatever reason, I'd be able to fend the attacker off at least until Shizan would arrive as us humans, like all animals, defend our territory. Us humans; however, tend to use guns--or what Shizan said to be a thunder stick--in order to defend our territory. Since I don't have one to use, I'll just have to use the knowledge I gained from taking self defense classes. That or make weapons from what I can find in the forest to have on hand in case that would happen. Besides, if I'm too heavy with kits I most likely wouldn't be able to do anything to defend myself."

Shizans father looks at him and nods "alright then is Shizan your first mate?"

"Yes he is," Leo said with a confident nod. He feels like he is getting more comfortable being around Shizan's father and the others. Shizan being here beside him is probably helping too. "I could never find another human suitable enough for me, so I waited. Fate--or destiny or coincidence--just so has it that I was on the plane that crashed into this land and found Shizan who also happened to be looking for a mate. Initially, I did it in order to save the rest of my herd. But now, I think that maybe I accepted for another reason."

Leo fidgeted a little as he blushed slightly. He knew Shizan probably wanted to hear him say what he was thinking, but, for whatever reason, he can't bring himself to say it without being embarrassed.

Shizan purrs happy that there is a small chance Leo loves him back. "well father?"

Shizans father smiles at Leo"take good care of my son. He is a bit of a dreamer , but he means well. Shizan, you take care of him too got it."

Leo stood there in confusion and happiness. Does this mean he'll be able to stay with Shizan? And what did Shizan's father mean by Shizan is a dreamer?

Leo looked up at Shizan curiously and was about to ask, but thought better of it and decided to save it for when they got back.

He nodded to Shizan's father and gripped Shizan tightly, not wanting to let him go.

Shizan hugs Leo and purrs "he accepts you Leo." the others all group hug Leo and Shizan

Leo let out a sigh of relief at that only to have his face turn red when the others came to give the two of them a group hug. He tentatively returned the hug in kind.

the others let go. the parrot is last to let go "i understand how hard it is to be the pray mateing the preditor so if you ever need help come to the east" Shizan nods and smiles "Ty"

"Thank you for the offer Mr. Parrot," Leo said softly. Was he really prey to Shizan's kind if not mating? Are the others of his "herd" prey for other creatures that would venture into Shizan's territory? What other creatures would ignore the fact that it's Shizan's territory and attack the others? Would that same creature come after him once the others are all gone?

Leo gripped Shizan's are hard as these thoughts and more flitted through his head causing his fear to rise once again.

Shizan holds Leos hand. he wispers is Leos ear "its ok your the known to our kind we don't know if your pray or a preditor yet?"
the parrot nods and smiles "Im glad to help." He then walks back to his own mate.

"It depends," Leo whispers back as he nods to the parrot. "Where I came from, we typically hunt animals like deer, elk, sometimes bears, and even squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, and other small animals. Animals like tigers, lions, jaguars, other big cats, elephants, hippopotamuses, alligators and crocodiles, rhinoceroses, and other animals like that can hurt or even kill us so we tend to leave them alone if we can. But there are some people that hunt those animals for money, called poachers."

He nods "so your between like the margay. Im at the bottom of the food chain, and the jaguars and tigers are the top" Shizan "that doesn't matter to big brother though"

Leo just nods and moves closer to Shizan.

"What happens now?" Leo asked Shizan and looked around at the others, especially Shizan's father wondering what will happen next.

Shizan smiles "well we can go home and rest. after we can see the cave." The others start to leave, turning into animals then running away in pairs.

"Okay," Leo said returning his focus back to Shizan since the others were leaving already. "Sounds like a good idea to me."

Shizan nods and leads Leo back to the temple. once there he streaches out on the bed, and watches Leo.

the others have gotten started on making homes, not good ones but enough to last for a while.
