I snapped at you as I was furious and weak. And I had just had my worst moment at work. As j shouted, I started feeling the heartburn again

Once again I had to smile and ignore his verbal abuse. "I got the burger at that new place down the street. It's called City Diner. It's one of those retro places,supposed to look like the 50's or something."
"It's called the "Best Burger Ever",even though I guess not for you. " I had to kind of hold back a smile then. " I ordered it straight off of the menu because it sounded good. And you know,I said raising my voice just a little, you took a wrapped sandwich out of a stapled bag. How could I have put something in it.? " "Fire me if you want to, I don"t care anymore" .

I shocked myself, saying that,but it is true. I'm very good at my job and wouldn't have any trouble finding a new one.
I saw what had become a familiar look on his face,and decided to leave a little goodbye "gift"." So I guess you'll have to get your own banana milkshake next time"

I was shocked. Was I overreacting because I was sick...or was she being really really bold?

I was hoping she'd help me around till I leave office, but I suppose that's out of the question. I left my car in the office parking and took a cab instead. I was still sick to my stomach, but there was nothing I'd vomit, I was empty. Hungry, but didn't dare eat.

The next morning, I came to office, having had only a little cereal for breakfast. The can ride was unpleasant to say the least. The whole 45 minutes, I only focused on not throwing up again. At least the heartburn from last evening was gone to my relief.

As I got down from the can, I spotted Venessa walking into the office building. Shit, I was late, I thought!

I guess I was a little late getting to work. I had been on the phone with my sister most of the night.
It started with a text.

My older sister,Vicki is a doctor. Right now she is doing fertility research in Thailand. Research that will make it easier for men to
conceive and carry children.
I had told her a few months ago about Alex and his business trip to Thailand. What hotel he would be staying at (who do you think
made the reservations?), stuff like that. Vicki arranged to be tthere,waiting for him in the hotel bar. I guess they hit it off. And nature and science took over.

"someone's here early" I tried to break the silence, hiding my tiredness. I was still feeling a bit sick. I was hungry, but I was afraid of throwing up again, I was already feeling nauseous again.

I smiled. "Good morning boss. Hope you're feeling better this morning."
I had stopped at a store on the way in,and purchased two small flower bouquets,orange juice and two very decadent looking pastries.
The flowers were already arranged.I was lucky enough to find a couple plastic glasses in the breakroom,and placed one on my desk and one on his. I had also left a cup of juice and a pastry on his desk. Maybe,some way we get past yesterday and move on.

I didn't like the fact that she addressed me being sick. I was not used to this feeling.

"I'm fine as ever" I lied. The room felt pleasant...and I was surprised when I was offered with a glass of orange juice.

I immediately took the glass and had a couple of sips.

"Thanks!" I said.. how did she know that I liked orange juice with breakfast, I wondered.

But the smell of oranges hit me hard. I immediately kept the glass away and gulped whatever I had in my mouth.

"Can you get me some water please? I'm too full to have the juice" I lied, trying hard to swallow and hold the contents of my stomach down.

I watched as he smiled and quickly took a few sips of the cold juice. Just as quickly putting the glass down, swallowing and asking for water.

The day went on, I ate as little as possible, and was trying hard the whole time not to throw up. I didn't observe that Vanessa was spending more and more time around me, but I did notice her asking me questions about what I wanted, how I was feeling etc. It made me feel weak and I didn't like it one bit.

But only 3 hours into the day, I was dead tired, exhausted.. but I put up a brave face and carried on. Lying to Vanessa every time she asked if I was alright. She was getting on my nerves by this point.

During lunch, she asked me again, and I snapped "for the love of God! Would you stop asking me that and do your fucking job? If it weren't for your stupid burger yesterday, I would've been perfectly fine even yesterday. I'm perfectly OK today. Just a little tired, but what else do you expect after the way I threw up yesterday?" I kept rambling to her. I didn't even realize that I told her I was tired until I stopped talking.

"I have been doing my job. All of your appointments are set up for the rest of today and the list of phone calls you need to return is on your desk.
"Im just worried about you. You just seem different some how."

"What do you mean by different? I'm just as I was yesterday, the day before, and the day before that. Alright? Now stop bothering and make sure you set everything up just fine."

As she walked off, I shouted again "and don't you dare get me lunch from that stupid burger place!"

The day went by without an episode, but I was exhausted by the time I got I to my car. A lot of sitting and no workout was taking its toll on my back I thought, as I felt a dull pain at the low end of my back. I drove home and literally passed out on the couch, didn't have enough energy to even change. That was a bad decision though, as I woke up with a sore back... Shouldn't have slept on the damn couch, I thought!

Ever since the incident at the office, I was feeling a little better off.. I was throwing up almost every morning or at night.. sometimes just nauseous, not even able to throw up. Maybe my body just got used to that, so thankfully I was feeling slightly better during the day.

Still, I got tired pretty easily. Especially the last 3-4 days. I was pushing myself extra hard... taking on extra meetings, staying late... My schedule was tossed up. I was eating late at night, whatever I could find. I wanted to make sure I was picked for the overseas trip. I didn't let anyone know that I wasn't well. It was hard the last few days though.

I was throwing up a lot more. Even while in office, but I managed to go to the men's room on the floor above to avoid anyone noticing. I was getting super tired and has started having a lot of stomach issues. Felt bloated, even kind of constipated
