C A Star is Born (closed with SazzyP260)

"I felt that way the first time too. All I want is a happy and healthy baby." Zach closed his eyes, yawning. "We should try to get some sleep. You know he's going to be up a few times tonight and someone had us up really early this morning."

Zach lightly poked Caleb in the side. "Love you."
Reply

Caleb nodded and yawned again, several times, before he could even get a sentence out "Love you, too." he muttered, right before he fell asleep.

It didn't even take an hour of sleep before Noah was awake, crying out for either Zach or Caleb, so they ended up keeping the three-year-old in the bedroom with them, on Zach's side of the bed while Zach slept in the middle - he had Caleb curled up on one side and Noah curled up on the other; his twenty years separated twins sleeping exactly like bookends against his body.

Zach checked his watch again, bouncing Savannah on his lap. She was clearly getting bored and wanted to get up to roam but Zach wasn't the only person waiting in the reception area of his agents' office. Jen wasn't the only agent that worked there and he knew some of the others might not appreciate a rambunctious one year old running around. Hopefully Jen would actually come get him since they were supposed to meet five minutes ago. Normally she was very punctual.

He wasn't sure why she wanted to see him. He hadn't so much as had a sniff at a job since he had announced his pregnancy and now Savannah was already a year. He hoped she wasn't planning on dropping him as a client or anything like that. That would be really awkward since she was basically Caleb's best friend and Savannah's godmother.

Jen came out with what looked like a very young - around sixteen - man, smiling and shaking his hand "I'm sure you'll do fine, Justin... And if you ever decide to come back; call me. I'll gladly represent you again in the film industry." Jen told him, holding the door open for the teenager before she turned to Zach.

A bright smile appeared on her face at seeing her goddaughter "I didn't know you were bringing Savannah! How come you didn't leave her at home with Caleb and Noah?" Jen asked as she came over and swung Savannah out of Zach's arms and onto her own hip, kissing the one-year-old all over her face "Come on, let's head back to my office and we can talk."

"Caleb and Noah are out on a play date with one of Noah's school friends. I figured I would bring her with me since she always loves to see her Aunt Jen," Zach said, following Jen into her office. Jen was already standing Savannah on her desk, checking out her outfit. "And yes, you bought her that. Caleb said to put her in it since you bought it. I don't know how he remembers that stuff."

Zach could feel himself babbling and he bit his lip to stop. "You're not dropping me as a client, right? Because I keep thinking that's what is about to happen so if you could just let me know either way, I would really appreciate it."
Reply

Jen laughed and shook her head "Nope. Not dropping you - I can't do that anyway... Even if you never get another gig again, dropping you would mean very awkward friendships between you, Caleb, and myself... and my god babies." Jen said as she hoisted Savannah back onto her hip and then grabbed a semi-thick three-ring-binder and tossed it across her pristine and clean desk.

"Read through that, let me know what you think... Your daughter needs a diaper change." Jen said as she grabbed the diaper bag from Zach's hand and flaunted her way out of her office and toward the much larger bathroom down the hall - her office bathroom was not conducive to changing diapers, so learnt when Noah was a baby.

Zach breathed a sigh of relief and took the binder. It didn't have a title and he didn't recognize any of the names attached to it but he had never been about the names when he did a film. He skimmed the script, wondering if he should get his Hope's up. He liked one of the characters, Claude, a lot. It was a love story between two men, a film he never would have touched before.

Jen came back in with Savannah, having picked up a cookie somewhere along the way, Savannah chomping on it happily. Zach looked at Jen, his eyes wide. "I want Claude. Please tell me that I have a chance."
Reply

Jen nodded and sat Savannah down on the carpet, closing her office door once again and dropping the diaper bag on the couch "You have an excellent chance. They wanted to feature you as Claude, to begin with, but they also wanted to see if you had any other interests before casting began."

Jen sat down and leaned back in her comfy leather office chair "You did read the filming location, didn't you?" Jen said, leaning over and flipping to the front page again. She pointed to the correct area without hardly looking 'Quebec, Canada' in bold letters "Are you *sure* you can swing it, with Caleb pregnant, Noah in preschool, and Savannah *just* learning to walk?"

"I saw," Zach said, biting his thumbnail. "And I don't know if we can swing it. Obviously I'm going to have to talk to Caleb. Does he want to move the family or does he want to stay in LA and only I go? Is that even feasible? When do they plan to start filming?"

Zach wanted this movie but he couldn't take it if the timing was bad. Caleb was five months pregnant and it wasn't fair to move him across the country for Zach to do a film. It also wasn't fair to leave him with two kids while he was pregnant either.
Reply

Jen sighed and twirled a pen in her fingers "They plan on starting within the next few weeks, they already have cast spots filled up, and more are doing so by the day - at this point they are just looking for Extra's." Jen said as she leaned back "As for Caleb, you already know what he's going to say - 'Let's do it, Zach. Nothing is holding us back, we can find a doctor in Quebec, or fly Dr. Evans out...'" Jen said, impressing her best Caleb voice.

Savannah laughed happily as she pulled a fake potted plant off of Jen's coffee table, then crawled up on top of the surface, chewing on the last bit of her chocolate chip cookie. Zach started to get up but Jen waved him back into his seat "Leave it, there isn't anything dangerous for her to get into over there - I've baby proofed my entire office for this reason... The carpet is padded with extra padding and everything."

Zach sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. "I want this role. I miss acting so much, Jen. I feel like part of me is missing. I love being Papa but I'm supposed to be acting as well."

Savannah waved her arms. "Papa. Jen." She signed for milk and then plopped down on her butt. "Papa."

Zach chuckled a little and dug in the diaper bag for her cup and a container of milk. He filled it for her before handing it over. She beamed at him before drinking happily.

"She likes milk with her cookies," Zach explained, shrugging.

Jen tapped her pen on the desk and stared at the ceiling "So take the part - Talk to Caleb, and then take the part... You know he isn't going to be happy staying home with Savannah and Noah, and you can't split the four of you up..." Jen said as she turned her head to look at Zach "This filming will be less stressful, less hectic - you won't be planning your wedding, or pregnant... You're not pregnant, right?" Jen asked, her tone rather serious as she raised an eyebrow and pointed her pen at Zach.

Zach shook his head emphatically. "Condoms and spermicide if Caleb ... holds my hand." He coughed. "You'll find us a good place to live? Do I even want to know what kind of money they're offering me?"
Reply

"Good. Then I don't have to find a good publicist to air why you're pregnant again." Jen said as she chucked her pen on the desk and sat up again "Of course I will find you a good place to live. I've already started looking, actually." she shuffled some papers out of her desk and dropped them onto the script work "As for the pay... It's not much, Zach, but it *is* a start. They're really just a start-up company, looking to make a name for themselves in this dog-eat-dog world... This job, for you, is really going to put them on the map - soo it's kind of a charity case for you."

Zach nodded and looked over at Savannah who was playing with her stuffed dog. "I don't need the money. What if we tied something to box office gross instead of them putting out salary for me ahead of time? It's pretty much a mutual charity case really. I need this as much as they do."
Reply

Jen shrugged "I'll call them and talk to them about negotiating a contract like that - They really do want you, Zach. They think you have the right... 'Jizz' for the job." Jen rolled her eyes and looked at her planner briefly "There are a couple of sex scenes, several kissing scenes... You're not going to weird out on us and walk off set, are you?"

"I can do kissing and sex scenes. I just don't like to talk about my own sex life," Zach said, rolling his eyes. "I'll talk to Caleb today and let you know tonight. If I'm going to take this, I need to move on it right away because we're going to have to move right away. Can I keep the script?"
Reply

Jen nodded "Yep, that's your copy. I have my own." Jen stood up and went over to Savannah, lifting the pretty-in-pink one-year-old up and swinging her above her head "Ohhhh, I am going to miss you so much, butterfly!" Jen cooed as she brought Savannah down and blew raspberries on her belly and then her cheek, making Savannah giggle and clap happily.

"Talk to Caleb, talk with whomever you need to... You know my number, but don't call me after eight tonight... I have a date." Jen said as she handed Savannah over to Zach and kissed her cheek again "If you take the job, you know I'll come visit after a little while, but I have a lot of clients to deal with so it may be three months before we see each other."

"We're probably going to have to have the baby there," Zach said softly. "Caleb will be too far along to fly by the time filming is over. That's if he goes full term this time. Luckily everything seems to be going fine, like completely different from his first pregnancy, but a lot can change in the next four months."

Zach looked up at Jen, her words registering finally. "Who do you have a date with?"
Reply

Jen waved her hand "Never you mind. I'll tell you... Well, I'll tell Caleb, if it all pans out - he knows who I have a date with." Jen said as she bounced back over to her desk and plopped down with a smile on her face "On your way out, could you tell Donovan Kessler that I'm ready to see him?" Jen asked, smiling winningly up at Zach, a clear dismissal in her tone.
