"Yes I suppose so" said Sue Ellen, pausing for thought. "Kregan...what happens to the babies when they're taken away after birth?"

"After birth they are taken to the nursey where they are cared for by Xeon Caretakers and Human Volunteers. Then after 3-4 months they are given to their chosen Xeon Watcher.

But, they don't have anyone to love them...? Just monitor them?

"Since our race was nearly wiped out 500 years ago we have been focused on repopulation. Nurturing has no place in a world such as that. Though...it would be nice." Kregan says looking at the crib

Kregan sits at his desk. "I've never really had the chance to do so. I've be so absorbed in my duty as a breeder that I've never though of embracing my role as a father."

For the 1st time ever you see Kregan show the emotion of sadness.

For the first time since she arrived at the complex, Sue Ellen does the most unselfish thing she can possibly do. She struggles and heaves herself up from the edge of the bed, slowly waddles her way heavily to Kregan's desk. She stops and stands next to him. He is so deep in thought he doesn't even notice she's standing there until her bulging, balloon like bump is at his direct eye level.

Sue Ellen takes his hands and lifts them to her, placing them on her active middle she takes a deep breathe before nervously saying with her eyes clenched shut. "I can't pretend to love you, but I can like you and I can live with you, I can even marry you if that's required. But we can both love them. - Together, as a team, as parents."

Kregan looks stunned by this. "Your proposing that we rise them?"

"Heh, I think your translator is broken Kregan." I am proposing that we raise them.

Kregan laughs "I'd like that." he responses rubbing your enormous baby bump.

Sue Ellen lifts up her gown, - it barely covers her naked body anyway at her size, to let Kregan see the babies moving for himself. Sue began to explain how it felt to be pregnant, how it felt when the babies moved, or kicked. She talked to Kregan about her life as a regular pathetically struggling human, how she wasn't always so bitter and selfish, but life had made her that way. She explained that carrying more than two babies was pretty uncommon, three babies would surprise people and five would shock them.

"So is it normal to carry this many babies for the Xeons? Or do your women normally carry something insane like 40 babies? Or do they lay eggs? I would like to know what Xeon pregnancy is like. And what I can expect as a hybrid breeder over the years"

"A Xeon pregnancy lasts about 3-5 months" ,Kregan begins, "The female Xeon can carry up to 12 younglings at once. They gestate, literally, in the stomach. There is a very thick layer of fatty tissues that forms a protective cocoon around the babies so they wont get burn my stomach acid. Birth is quite similar to the way humans are born. As your years as a hybrid breeder progresses, they pregnancies become less of a strain of your body, and giving birth will become as painless as breathing."

'Thank goodness I have a womb' thought Sue Ellen.

At that moment a Braxton Hix contraction hit Sue Ellen, it started in her lower back and it slowly spread across her middle. She made instinctual animalistic noises whilst trying to cope with the pain.

Kregan notices the look of discomfort on Sue's face.

"Are you alright?" he asks.

"Is that some kind of drink?" Kregan asks
