Tobias was just one of those breeders. He had obtained a high stat Ditto from a shady dealer and was bringing it back to the ranch he worked on. He wanted to let the Ditto out and see if it was what he expected. He had to hide it from the ranch owner, since he wasn't a full fledged breeder yet...So he went to the barn, not knowing one of his friends was working in there.

He said, holding up the ball. He looked so excited, shifting a bit before releasing the monster from the ball.

There was a flash of light before the small pink blob appeared on the ground in front of him. Face forming as a simple pair of eyes and vague mouth. It made a noise and jiggled on the ground a bit before sliding itself towards Tobias. "Oh....hey little guy. I'm your new trainer." Said Tobias, kneeling in front of it and holding his hand out. Charles didn't see Tobias as that much of a friend, more of a rival than anything despite living and training under the same roof,"Well you were, and you should offer to take over my duties for all of tomorrow."he crossed his arms, though he did take the bottle from him when he offered it, thanking him quietly and opening it as he gulped down the water. He grimaced slightly at the sight of the pokemon making it's way over to Tobias,"How much did you pay for it?"he asked, knowing that ditto's weren't rare but there must be something different with this one, he decided as he put the water bottle down and continued shoveling.

Tobias nodded to Charles, "Alright. I'll do your stuff tomorrow. You just have to bring water." He said, smiling. He considered the other a friend, maybe not a very close friend, but a friend nonetheless. He would stick to his word.

But now he was focused on his new Pokemon. "Its not just any Ditto. Its a proven breeder with high stats." He said, gently poking the pink blob sitting on his shoulder. Oddly, it wasn't slimy, more like soft gelitan. It made a soft gurgling noise, reaching out what Tobias could only describe as 'an appendage' to touch his face. "I think it likes me." He chuckled, looking over at Charles.

Seeing the other had gotten back to work, Tobias decided to see how well Ditto could transform. He set the creature down on the ground and pulled out another pokeball. Out of it sprang a Nidorino, landing next to the Ditto and shaking himself out. "Ok, Ditto, Transform into Spike." Said Tobias, watching the pink blob wiggle around and then form itself into a copy of the Nidorino. "Great!" Laughed Tobias, reaching to pet the Ditto's ear.

Charles shrugged at him,"Sure it does."he replied unbelieving of what Tobias said,"You're too believing, that guy could have been easily lying to you and took all your savings."he found those creatures gross, they looked like jello, and he used to like jello, leaning against his pitchfork with a curious expression when Tobias looked to him again.

Tobias sighed when Charles pointed out that he could have been fooled. He looked down at the Ditto, frowning. He stood up, recalling the Nidorino to its Pokeball and putting it away. "Alright. Something more difficult?" He said, putting his hands on his hips and watching as the Ditto returned to its natural shape.

He reached to pull his long black hair back into a low ponytail, sharp blue eyes flashing. "Fine. Ditto, I want you to turn into me." He said, holding his arms out so the Ditto could see better. The Ditto shifted and stretched, making a gurgling noise as it tried to mimic a human shape. But it couldn't seem to do it right. Tobias made a disappointed noise, dropping his arms to his sides in defeat.

"Alright, maybe I was fooled." He groaned, not noticing the Ditto wiggling closer to his foot. It suddenly shot up his pantleg, startling Tobias and making him fall over. "H-hey! Get outta there!" He said, trying to stop it

Charles turned the hose onto a trickle and held it over the first water bucket, leaning against one of the gates of the stable and sighing at the attempt,"It got close, maybe you can still use it for something."
