How could this happen?...


Bethany thought to herself, wrapping her arms around her legs as she had her head buried in them, sobbing quietly as her father quietly rubbed her back.
How could everything that was going so well all of a sudden go wrong? Bethany was only a month pregnant and lost the baby. Devastated by her loss, she stayed over her father's place for a couple of days to clear her head.

"I've already tried numerous times, Dad. I cannot afford to be disappointed again." she rose from her feet and went into the guest room. Her sobs could be heard from a mile.

Bethany sat on the edge of her bed, staring at the ground, deep in thought as she twiddled her thumbs. The tears had stopped but her thoughts on losing another child were fresh as ever.
