Raiden had smiled at his friend, letting him know that everything would be alright as long as they were both together and in each other's sight. He had recently celebrated a birthday and wanted to spend time with his beloved friend for a while. He had walked through a heavily forested area where there was no other signs of life except birds and crickets making their sweet music in the air. He had wanted the day that him and his friend were spending together to be worthwhile. He had watched as nature went by and had surrounded the two friends in it's majesty. What the did not know was that a creature fabled from legends had been following them in secrecy.

Hitsugi really enjoyed celebrating Raiden's birthday with him. He was glad it was going to be a rather quiet day exploring the forest. Nothing was more relaxing than a quiet stroll through the forest on a nice day. he pointed out a few birds to his friend, taking pictures with his phone to post online later. They also took some silly photos, acting like they were hanging from a very high branch, when in reality it was only a few feet off the ground.
he felt safe in this area, so he didn't worry when the sun began to set and the full moon rose overhead. He even took some fantastic photos of the moon peeking through the leafy canopy above. Never once could he have imagined what was tracking them. They had stumbled into his territory, they were now prey.
Serectly Raiden had a crush on his friend but he never knew what to do about it. He had found it intoxicating whenever his beloved friend had walked closer to him or wrapped his arms around him. To him that moment was pure bliss. Nothing could change the way that he had felt. He had had fun that day with his friend, laughing and joking around like natural friends were meant to do. He had a strange feeling like they were both being watched but then he had shook it out of his mind. But soon he would regret that. Soon him and his friend would both be attacked.

Hitsugi couldn't help being so dense sometimes, completely missing how Raiden reacted when he was around. He couldn't help that he was a bit more physical with his innocent affection for his friend, it just happened. Most people compared him to a cat, which was pretty accurate. He loved warm places, cuddling, and sleeping. And if he did that with someone he enjoyed spending time with, it was even better.
He sighed at the gentle cool air around them, but suddenly paused when he heard a dry branch crack behind them. He turned to look, freezing when he caught a pair of eyes reflecting the moonlight in the darkness. He knew there weren't any large predators in this area, and it was obviously way too big to be a dog..."R-raiden?" He said, catching his friend's sleeve and tugging on it.
The shadowed figure charged, teeth flashing in the moonlight. Hitsugi was knocked aside as the beast went for Raiden, sharp claws catching his clothes and flesh as sharp teeth sunk deeply into his leg. Hitsugi was so shocked and horrified, he didn't know how to respond.
Raiden was still strong when he needed to be. Soon his test for battle would be into fact as the creature who was following them would attack him and his friend. He had breathed in the chilly Autumn air that had silently flowed in silence around them. Before he could speak a massive creature burst from what seemed to be a bottomless darkness. He had looked wide eyed as the creature had charged toward him, completely over powering him within a matter of minutes. When his flesh was being exposed and bitten into he had cried out with a bloodcurdling scream that echoed through the forested area. He hit the ground hard and harshly with a pained grunt, trying to get the teeth of the unknown creature out of him. "Ah! .. let go! .. let go!" He had cried out in a mixture of fear and rage, trying to hit the creature who was attacking him.

Hitsugi stared with wide eyes as his friend was brutally savaged by the beast. The man's scream snapped him out of his daze and quickly looked for a way to get the creature off his friend. He scrambled around in the dark, finding a thick branch about the size of a bat. Hitsugi had a mean swing, so he took up the branch and shouted at the beast, trying to get its attention before swinging at its head.
The beast yelped in pain, letting Raiden go and turning on him. Hitsugi felt the red hot pain of its claws tearing through his skin, dropping the branch and crying out as he was tackled. He screamed as the beast sank it's teeth into his arm.
Another noise startled the beast, making it let go and run off, leaving the two men injured and bleeding. Hitsugi cursed and stumbled to his feet, limping to Raiden's side. "Shit...shiiiiiiit." he panted, using their shredded clothes to create a tourniquet above the wound on his leg to stop the bleeding, ignoring his own wounds for now.

Raiden had quivered in fear, feeling his bruised up body begin to ring out with pain. He had slowly gotten up, trying his very hardest to get to his feet as the world around him spun as if it were off its axis. He had groaned in pain, trying his very most to get the bleeding that was persistent to stay to stop cold in its tracks. He did not know that soon a virus was working its way through him and his friends systems, soon it would be turning them into savage killers that would target and take down anything and anyone that moved.

"Hey, don't get up yet." Said Hitsugi, stopping Raiden with one hand. He hastily wrapped part of his shirt around his own arm to stop the bleeding while he tended to his friend. He couldn't help feeling like he wanted to throw up, and he nearly did a few times, jerking away to retch and spit into the grass before returning to his friend.
Once he felt he'd wrapped his leg enough, he helped the other up, letting him lean on his shoulder since he had two working legs to stumble home on...He limped back the way they came, knowing his place wasn't too far from the wooded area. What he didn't know is they left quite a trail.
Thankfully, nobody saw them as they entered Hitsugi's house, going right to the master bathroom where he helped Raiden to sit in the tub...that's when he finally collapsed against the side of the tub, panting and wheezing, having no idea how much blood he lost. He didn't realize his wounds were already healing under all the blood covering him.

Raiden had wanted to get up to his feet to walk around but he was stopped by his friend. He had groaned aloud in pain, letting his friend tend to his wounds. He had also thrown up a few times in the grass around the both of them. He had staggered to his feet, wincing as he had felt his body aching with so much pain but he had moved on and had made his way toward his friend's house along with his friend. He had sat in the tub, sighing with relief as he was finally allowed to close his eyes.

Hitsugi finally vomited in the toilet, groaning and leaning against the side of the tub. He wanted to help himself and Raiden, but he felt so weak and drained. Soon, he lost consciousness, collapsing to the floor for an hour...
He woke up to the foul feeling of blood dried on his skin and drool between his face and the floor. He sat up quickly, making the room spin and nearly making him pass out. "What....what the hell?" He mumbled, looking around. He saw Raiden and quickly moved to check his wounds, only to find they had healed. "What the fuck?"

Hitsugi looked a bit dazed, looking over the healed wounds on his own body. He looked up when he heard movement, watching Raiden join him in sitting on the floor.
"I....I don't know." He said, rubbing his face. "We were all cut up...And now we're not..." He said, shaking his head. "How long were we out?" He mumbled, fishing his phone out of his pocket to check. It had only been a few hours, the sun was coming up outside...
