"One male is born every 100 years? That's crazy. Why would that happen?" Shiina said.

"We just need one male to be a consort to our Queen, but if you want another explanaition, Im afraid I dont have it" she said sheepishly

"So one male is born and crowned king yet he is only a consort to the queen?" Shiina asked.

"Yes, well he really has a lot kf power.....wht you ask?"she says stearing thr meat over thr pot in the fire

"How can there be only one male born every 100 years? That seems impossible unless one of the gods did so." Shiina reasoned.

"What you mean? I dont know Shiina its the way it is" she said as she had been taufht that way, "its ready, go wash yojr ha ds, there is a wood barrel outside with water"

Shiina nodded and washed his hands before coming back in.

"Why are you so intresred in that?" She asked handing him hismplate as thry sat in her battered table, dinner was simple, meat cooked with only some salt as seasoning and a small loaf of bread, yet it was all Rina had.

"What do you mean?" Shiina asked as he took his plate.

"In the males of my kind" she said eating and looking at him with her blue eyes

"I never seen a male Phalanx before. Do you remember any?" Shiina asked.

"No, Im not that old" she said not sure if Shiina thought her so " they are just men, they dont have much importance...." she said as she was thaught

"If one is born every 100 years, I'm sure one male is important for something." Shiina explained.

"Well he does spents a lot of time in the table, I think he nas a special link to the One god " sje ssid softly as she wasnt allowed to talk of this things, much less to a humanand a war prisioner

"That might make sense. I wonder what kind of link though?" Shiina contemplated as he began to eat. "This is delicious!" He exclaimed.

"I wouldnt really know, only the phalanx in very high posts know" she said and smilled "Thanks...but I know its very simple, you must be used to better food" she muses breaking her loaf of bread to take a bite

"Your food is delicious. I'm really grateful for it." Shiina said smiling as he ate.

Rina was surprised as Phalanx never used thanks or please, one was expected to just do kr grab what you needed they never practiced any kindness. "Didnt you had better at your palace?"

"I learned to appreciate what I was given. My family was not as kind." Shiina explained before he continued to eat.
