Astien took deep breaths, before he yelled again. "Ooooowwwww!"

Cormac stirred and sat up. "Is it happening?"

"These contractions are getting worse. Aaaagghh!" Astien screamed. He curled in on himself and clutched his belly.

Marius rubbed Astien's back and kissed his head.

Astien took a few deep breaths, before he cried out once more.

Cormac groggily climbed down the bunk and sat at the table.

Astien kept screaming and breathing until the contraction passed. He flopped onto his back, panting. "Oh gods..."

"Do you want to go back out into the stream?" Marius asked.

Astien nodded. "Let's just walk around a bit."

Marius helped Astien up and out of the carriage.

Astien leaned on Marius as they walked around in circles for a while. Astien couldn't keep track of how much time had passed before his back went rigid and he gasped. His mouth hung open as liquid started trickling down his leg.

Marius smiled. "About time," he said cheerfully.

"Y-Yes..." Astien stood awkwardly as amniotic kept flowing and flowing out of him. "There's so much of it."

"Should we get to the stream?"

"Aaahahahaaa..... My mind's drawing a blank right now."

Marius nodded and helped Astien to the stream, eased him into the water and began to message his back.

Astien took deep breaths and grunted in pain as another contraction came, giving way to a loud holler of pain.

"You're doing great," Marius assured him. "Your water broke so it's not too much longer now."

"Just watch, Aiden's going to find some way to drag this out." Astien chuckled. He screamed in pain once more.

"You mean to tell me he hasn't been this whole time?" Marius teased as he took Astien's hand.
