The Super-Soldier Project (Closed with cashewmanz)

"Don't worry, the soldiers here are just thinking I'm leading you to your appointment, as far as I'd guess, they're finding the whole joking around thing normal so no biggie." Andrea explained as they neared the clinic.

"That's good, I guess...ugh, I always forget about these stairs!" The clinic was slightly raised off the ground, and there were three small steps to get up to the front door, which Brandon had grown to hate with a passion.

"It's okay, just follow my lead and everything will be fine." Andrea said as she led Brandon up the stairs gently and slowly.

"Ugh! Thanks..." Brandon sighed as Andrea held the door for him to waddle into the waiting room.

Andrea smiled and followed after Brandon in the waiting room. Sitting beside him on the couch as one if the volunteers went out the ultrasound room.

Andrea smiled at him and squeezed his hand gently, "So, you looking forward on seeing how big the babies are?" She asked, almost teasingly.
Reply

"I don't know! I don't want them to be too big...but I want them to be healthy," he said as he nervously wrung his hands. "What do you want?"
Reply

Andrea smiled comfortingly, "Hey, so long as the babies are healthy." She said as she rubber his hand with her hand.

"I can be okay with that," he said. After a few more minutes, they were met by a nurse who took them back into the exam room to wait for the doctor.

The doctor entered the exam room and smiled at them, "Hello you two, how are you feeling Brandon? The babies bothering you lately?" She asked teasingly. Andrea smiled and shook her head at the friendliness of the doctor.
"Anyway, Brandon honey, congrats on the babies by the way." She added as she took out the gel from where it was in and squirted a small dollop onto Brandon and so, she started the ultrasound, the room was instantly filled with tiny heartbeats from the babies in Brandon's belly.

"Well babies are big and healthy, they're in the right position and nothing seems to be wrong, of course and you seem to be just fine with everything else. Congratulations." Shesaid as she shifted rthe probe on Brandon's large belly.

"That's a relief, doc. Any idea how much longer I have to go? I'm ready for this to be over with," he said as he hovered his hands around his belly to emphasize its girth.

The doctor nodded and checked, "Your due in eight weeks." She said as she had the sonogram pictures printed, handing them the pictures before a nurse burst in.
"Doc, one of the volunteers are in full blown labor, their water broke and they're close to pushing." The doctor nodded and hurried out as she was followed by the nurse, Andrea then led Brandon out the clinic when they passed a room where they heard screaming which was mixed with sobbing.
Reply

"That...that doesn't sound good. Oh god, it sounds like he's dying in there!" Brandon gasped and buried his head into Andrea's shoulder in fear, trying to escape the noise.
Reply

"Sash, it's okay, that's what women go through all the time." Andrea said in an attempt to soothe her lover, "And besides, it doesn't sound that bad." She added as they heard another scream.
"Aaagh! G-get it out! Just get it out!"

Andrea cringed and looked at Brandon, "Yup, not bad at all." She said as she hurriedly led him out the clinic.
Reply

"Right..." Brandon said as he looked over his shoulder back at the clinic. "Can we just...do something to get my mind off of that?"
Reply

"Well, what do you wanna do?" She asked as they began walking through the grounds.
Reply

"I don't know...I can't do much, really. I think I just need you to be with me for a while so I can calm down...mind just sitting for a bit?"
Reply

"Sure." Andrea nodded and helped Brandon sit on the grassy ground before sitting down beside him.
Reply

"Ugh, that's nice..." Brandon sighed as he relaxed in the sun. "Being outdoors makes me feel like a kid again, when I used to go to summer camp," he reminisced.
Reply

Andrea smiled at his words, "What do you do in summer camps?" She asked in interest as she leaned closer to Brandon.
Reply

"I used to go swimming, or play kickball with the other kids. We'd make s'mores and tell ghost stories by the campfire at night before scaring ourselves so badly we didn't sleep..." Brandon thought back fondly. "You never went to summer camp, Colonel?"
