"Have you been to the doctor, yet?" He was almost positive Sean was pregnant, but they did need to know just how far along.

"No, I have not." Sean replied.

"Want me to make an appointment?" Lonnie suggested. "The on-campus doctor's pretty nice, I've seen her before."

"Sure." Sean said sa he rubbed his belly.

Once the appointment was made, Lonnie looked back at Sean. "She's available tomorrow at three. You want me to come with you when you go, or...?"

"You can come with me." Sean replied.

Strange as it was, that did make him feel very -- what was it, excited? "Alright, I'm off to my afternoon classes -- see ya later?"

"Yes." Sean replied.

Lonnie found himself feeling unreasonably nervous the next day as he waited for Sean to be ready. "You ready yet?"

Sean looked at Lonnie. "Yes."

"We'd better get going then." It would be a pretty long walk across the campus. Lonnie decided to lead them, leaving the room first and waiting for Sean to follow.

Sean followed Lonnie.

They made it across the campus quite quickly, and didn't have to wait long before the nurses welcomed them back. The female doctor, Dr. Carerra, was quick to greet Sean with a handshake.
"It's good to meet you, I assume you are my patient for today?"

"Yes, I am." Sean replied.

"And I assume you're in for a pregnancy check?" She asked, looking him up and down as she did.

"Yes." Sean replied again.

"Alright, sit down on the cot over there and I'll look you over." The doctor turned to smile at Lonnie, before asking, "Is he the father?"
"Yes," Lonnie blurted out quickly, then flushed a bit as if he was embarrassed at the sudden outburst. "I-I mean, uh, yes. I am."
