Ben sighed and rubbed a hand against his belly. "Can we please table this discussion for now? I really don't want to keep getting worked up right now. I've already moved around too much and Joy showing up hasn't exactly been relaxing. I don't want to have to start counting contractions again."

Will and Joy exchanged a nervous glance before looking back at Ben. "Okay, you're right," Will sighed. "I'm sorry for getting you worked up."

"Let's eat," Joy said after an awkward moment. "I made stew. I'm going to have to go grocery shopping for you guys. It's pretty bare in your fridge."

Joy served up bowls of stew to Will and Ben before sitting down to her own bowl. "It's Grandma's recipe so you should like it, Mr. Picky." Joy teased.

"Thank you for cooking," Ben said, looking over at Will with a soft smile. "This is what I made you the first time you came over."

"I thought it tasted familiar," Will said happily through a mouthful of stew. He swallowed but quickly regretted it, as it was still much too hot. He panted with his tongue out and trieddrowning some ice water.

"Whew...gotta slow down," he chuckled. "Your grandma sure knows how to cook," he told both of them.

(I am so sorry! I can't believe I forgot to reply to this!)

"Well she knew how to cook stews. That's about it," Ben chuckled, blowing on his spoonful. "She was a pretty dreadful cook. And Mom just didn't really cook much."

"Mom preferred to have a cook," Joy said. "I learned in the Army which is basically cooking for sustenance only. I've gotten better."

"Her ex was a good cook," Ben said, setting his spoon down. He wasn't really that hungry right now. The baby was sticking her feet into his stomach.
