"Not during the pregnancy. Before, I ran a few miles per day. I haven't really done that since, well..." he motioned towards his belly. "Maybe that's why I gained so much weight. "All the muscle is still underneath. Theres just some extra layers of fat, so I'm a little softer these days." he joked. "Now I have a question for you." he said. "Would you mind taking one last belly shot for my album...maybe if you see a good shot during the labor to to snap one with my phone" he said taking it off the table next to the bed and handing it to her.

Martina smiled and nodded. "I see", she said. "Well, I just felt, that your shoulders are quite well-trained and so I wanted to ask you about that", she added and blushed again a bit.
"Oh yes, of course", she said and took the phone. "Should I just take one now ??", she asked.

"Please, if you could." Nick hoisted himself off of the bed and moved to a proper distance so Martina could take the picture. He lifted his shirt and put a hand on both the top and bottom of his belly. "I hope I fit in the frame, you might want to put it on its side to get the rest of me in the picture." he laughed. Martina took one from the side and one from the front. It wasn't until he saw the pictures, that Nick saw how big he really was. "Oh.My.Gosh...I'm bigger than jupiter!" he said in shock. "And like I said if there's a dull moment or a picture that you think should be taken, as long as I don't need you with me at that particular moment, go ahead and take the pic. I'm going to put together quite an album for the babies." he said.

Martina smiled and nodded. "That's a wonderful idea.......I know so many people, who don't even think about making an album of memories for their children. But that can be so beautiful for them.......me for example, I still love flicking through the album my mum made with photos of me as a baby", she said. She loved Nick's ideas. He was quite modern and cool, but at the same time very traditional...........
"If you.....if you like, then we could also videotape the birth of your twins", she said with an inviting voice.

"That sounds like a good idea, but I never was that good with cameras. How would that work? Would someone follow me around with a camera at different parts of my labor, or should we just get the actual delivery and just film me pushing?" Nick said wondering the best way to add a videocamera into the mix of things. Nick asked Martina to take a few more pictures of him. He wanted to take advantage of the fact that he still had clothes on. "Thank you, Martina, these are great! I think Emma and Jacqueline will really like seeing what their daddy looked like before they were born...Maybe we can take one together, the girls should know that I didn't do it alone." he said cautiously, not to overstep any professional boundaries.

Martina started to smile. She just felt so happy, that Nick had that much trust towards her. "Oh yes, it would be a pleasure", she said and went next to Nick to take a picture.........
"Oh no........the delivery room has a camera installed in the ceiling, so everything can be filmed, but no one gets disturbed", she finally explained after the photo had been taken.

Nick smiled as Martina stook next to him. He gave a "thumbs up" in order to show how excited he was to be finally have the twins on their way. A few were taken, it seemed to be their own mini photo shoot. One was taken as they smiled next to each other, one bare-bellied with Nick by himself, and the other was with Martina and her hand on his belly. It was very important to him to document the event. "That's good. I don't think I can get too much video using the camera on my phone." he laughed. Nick walked over to his suitcase again and started to take out some more personal items and baby clothes. "I brought four outfits, two for each of them, do you think that will be enough?" Nick as Martina.

Martina looked at the baby clothes and started to smile. "Oh yes, they look great......and if they are not enough, then I will get you some from the hospital", she replied. Then she went to the window and turned on the heating, so that Nick wouldn't get cold. By thinking about the temperature, she looked at him. "Do you already know what you would like to wear during the birth ??", she asked him and smiled.

"I think I'm going to take things as they come, I'm kind of comfortable with what I'm wearing now...I brought a few extra shirts and some more underwear just incase I want to change. Who knows though, by the time delivery rolls around, I might want to be completely naked." said Nick thinking that most likely won't happen.

Martina nodded. "That's a good attitude........it's sometimes quite interesting how the preferences change during labor.........but however you will decide, I will be there to help you", she finally said and smiled to calm him down a bit. Even though he didn't seem to be very nervous, she thought that it could maybe help him in some way..........

"I know you will, You've been such a big help already." he said smiling. Nick put the rest of his and the babies' clothes away in the dresser draws provided. He continued to pace around the room and talking with Martina. After a while, Nick started to feel a slight discomfort in his groin, feeling like he got kicked in the balls. It slowly started to make its way up to his belly. It wasn't that painful, it was on a similar level to the first contraction he got. Nonetheless, it was still uncomfortable. "Martina, I think I'm having another contraction." he said unsure of it. His breathing became a little deeper and heavier. "Yea, this is probably another contraction."

As they had disconnected him from the contraction monitor, she couldn't assure, that this was another contraction..........but she slowly placed her hand on his belly and felt that it was rock hard and very tensed......
"Oh yes, that's a contraction", she said and smiled. "Just take nice deep breaths and try to breathe through the pain", she instructed him. "Do you.......do you already feel something like pressure or......or the urge to go to the toilet as if you would have to poop ??", she asked him.

Nick placed his hand over Martina's on his belly "Ooo this hurts." he winced and whimpered. Nick was too distracted by the contraction to hear and answer Martina's question. He breathed deep in and out slowly with help from Martina. Nick felt his belly bulge out with the contraction as the babies squirmed inside of him. Just as he thought the contraction was letting off it peaked around his bellybutton "Mmmmmmff" he groaned as the pain began to subside. Nick got up from his seat and adjusted his pants back to their correct height. He paced about trying to calm down as the rest of the contraction dissipated. "Sorry, I didn't hear what you said earlier, did you ask me something?"

Martina gently stroke his shoulder. "You did great, Nick", she said, before she continued. "Yes, I asked you, if you already feel something like pressure near your entrance or......or the urge to go to the toilet like you would have to poop", she asked him.

"Thanks, but you helped me through it." he said smiling back at Martina. "No, I don't have to go, but if I do, you'll be the first to know." he continued. "Entrance? I kind of always thought of my hole as an exit." he laughed. "There's not really a whole lot going IN there as OUT it." he laughed even harder. Nick waddled around the room. He didn't want to feel like he was confined to a bed just yet. Nick noticed the big blue birthing ball in the corner of the room that was covered with an absorbent pad. "What do you say we take this thing for a spin?" he said pulling his pants back up over his belly as he slowly moved to the ball.

Martina started to laugh and shook her head. "Well, that's the medical word for it.....I can also say anus, ass, asshole if you preferred that", she joked and started to laugh even harder watching Nick going to the birthing ball. "Oh yes, try it out......it can help a lot", she said with a smile and went to him, still chuckling a bit.

"I mostly call it my hole. Sometimes I'll get scientific and say anus...Whatever you call it, its still going to be my butt" he laughed with Martina. Nick carefully bounced on the ball, and rocked back and forth slightly. He was having trouble staying on it so he grabbed Martina's hands in front of him to steady himself. "Sorry, It's a little hard to stay on it when you're the same size as the ball." he continued. "Should I be on this thing? Is it going to hold my weight?"

Martina started to chuckle and stroke the back of his hands gently with her thumbs. "Oh yes, this will help you and your muscles relax a lot..........if you keep going a bit like this, then it will help your babies to come further down", she explained.
She rocked with him for some minutes, before asking him something. "Would you like something to drink ?? It's important to stay hydrated during labor", she said.

"Yes, if you don't mind. Can you get me some water, my throat feels a bit dry." he said "There's a large bottle of water near my bag, if you want to get it." he said motioning as thought to say he really couldn't get up at the moment. "Unless you have to get me some of the hospitals water." he said unsure of the practice.

"Oh, of course.....just stay as calm with your movements as possible", she said and carefully and very slowly let go of his hands, before quickly rushing to his bag and grabbing the bottle of water. "Okay, I am back", she said with a smile, quickly grabbing his hands again, opening the bottle and handling it to him. "Is there anything else you need ??", she asked him with her friendly voice.
