[Poppy]

Bucky leaned forward to rest his head against Steve's shoulder, breathing as if he'd just run a hundred mile marathon. He went on pushing; he didn't scream or yell much, only when there was a particular contraction that really wracked his body. His shirt had rolled up over his large swell, beads of sweat snaking down his contracting belly. He didn't know how long had passed - another half hour, maybe another hour total - before he turned away from Steve and called out. "Are you guys going to help at all?!" he cried, knowing that from where they were watching Hydra would be able to hear.

It wasn't but a minute later that a voice came on overhead. "It's only been five hours... We'll intervene at the seven hour mark if there has not been any progress."

Steve growls low in his chest before running his fingers through Bucky's hair. "Do you want to try standing? See if gravity might help?"

"Y-yeah, okay." Bucky nods, doing what he can to keep himself from totally falling against Steve right there. He could probably sleep for a good two or three days if allowed. He hadn't gotten any rest since his stay here with Hydra. Bucky clung to Steve as he stood, wincing as he was forced to put more weight on his left side after one of the guards had nearly shattered the right side of his pelvis during the attack with the rifles. "Might not be able to stand too long," he said exhausted.

Steve wraps Bucky's arms around his neck, his hands running along Bucky's back. The next few minutes finds them slowly swaying back and forth as Bucky continues to work through the contractions. As Bucky lays his head on Steve's shoulder Steve leans in to inhale his scent, slowly closing his eyes.

"I can't do another two hours," Bucky cries softly as his body comes down from another useless contraction. He could feel the baby in the birth canal but it felt totally stuck; he pushed with another contraction, his eyes closed tightly as he buried his face into Steve's shoulder. "Nngh... ah, f-fuck me." Bucky reached down to feel at his stomach. Still low, still heavily swollen, and still getting nowhere. "This isn't working..."

Steve sighs softly, nuzzling again Bucky's cheek. "I'm sorry Buck" he moves his hand to the opposite side of Bucky's running his thumb lightly along the underside of Bucky's stomach. "Just try and breath through them"

"I am, I am, it just- it's not coming." Bucky's voice was shaky, even a little scared, but he didn't admit his fear. He'd never had a birth as hard as this one. He gathered Hydra screwed him over with whatever genes they put in these babies - they certainly had reason to punish him for having ran off once.

Another half hour goes by, leaving them with a little over an hour before any kind of intervention, but luckily, or not so luckily, during a rather excruciating contraction, Bucky finally feels the head of the baby move down... as well as a sharp cracking sound. "Shit," he hisses suddenly, gripping onto Steve hard for a moment. "Shit, shit, i-it broke something." Bucky twisted his hips, gasping at the new pain in his lower back. He thought it might be his tailbone, it had happened once before in a birth long ago with similarly large babies.

Steve holds onto him, keeping him on his feet. He held Bucky close to him, letting him rest his weight against him. Steve had heard the crack as well though Bucky's body gave him no time to dwell. Seeing as the baby had finally moved it seemed as though his body wanted it out as much as Bucky did, giving him no breaks between the contractions.

Bucky struggled to continue pushing. By this time he was already tired from the past five and a half hours of mindless exertion, and now that this was finally moving along he had no energy; and there was still a second one to be birthed too. Bucky cried out in pain as the first baby soon enough started to push against his entrance. "Steve, Steve it's right there-" He held onto Steve tightly. "It's too big, it's too fucking big- I can't-"

"Yes you can, I know you can" To be honest Steve wasn't really sure if the baby could pass through or not. A few minutes later Steve moves slightly, laying the palms of Bucky's hands flat against the wall. He kneels down after, his hands trailing down the underside of Bucky's stomach to finally slip between his thighs. Steve could feel the bulge of the baby's head, him swallowing thickly.

Bucky tries to protest when Steve moves from under him but with another contraction came time to continue pushing so he focused his energy on that instead. Despite the eventual give of the baby coming down, now he felt at a standstill with how close it was to being out. "What's it look like..?" he asked between pushing, his voice tired as he pressed his forehead against the wall. "They're gonna have to pull it out, it's not gonna go-"

"Yes it will, breath through the next one then I want you to push as hard as you can" Steve lightly pats Bucky's thigh. "I can't tell what it looks like just yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I do"

Bucky didn't even have to think twice about pushing hard when the next wave of pain came around. It felt like the cramps he got when he went into heat, but a thousand times worse. With the next series of pushes Bucky felt something pop, and he couldn't be sure what it was. "Jesus, we need forceps or something," he said flustered, throwing his head back after he'd neared down once more.

"That's it, your almost there" The baby way starting to crown now, moving ever so slowly, but moving. There was no time for Bucky to relax, if he did it would all be for nothing and he'd have to start all over. As Bucky continued to push Steve attempted to ease his legs even further apart.

After what seemed like forever there was a sudden release of pressure, the head finally popping free. Steve cradled it in his hands as he began to help ease the baby out.

"Get it out," Bucky cried desperately, reaching down to feel at the head of the baby. "Pull it or something!" After all these babies weren't going to go home with he and Steve at the end of the day, and while Bucky did feel sympathy for them he wasn't ready at all to handle them by himself. He didn't care how they came out, he just knew he wanted them out now. He tried not to think about the fact that it had another one to go. Bucky pushed harder, refusing to take many breaks in between until the thing was finally out of him. His cries of pain echoed throughout the room; he'd get Hydra back for this and everything else they'd done to him.

Once the head was free the only other problem was the shoulders though they seemed to come through pretty easy. Once the baby was out Steve grabs the towel before quickly wrapping it up. He had no choice then but to place the baby in Bucky's shaking hands as Steve lowered him back to the ground, cutting the afterward with a piece of spring he had managed to find.

The baby's cries filled the room almost immediately, Steve moving to take a seat behind Bucky after he had cut the cord, letting Bucky lean back against him as Steve's arm moved to wrap around him, helping him to support the new weight in his arms.

When the baby finally came free and the release of pressure came over Bucky, he was about ready to fall right where he stood. He hissed quietly as he moved to sit down; it felt like there was a knife digging into his lower back. "Steve," he started slowly, "whatever broke, it... it's bad." He held the baby with trembling hands, unsure of what exactly to do with it. Normally the scientists would come in and take it but they seemed to be taking their sweet time. He wiped some of the fluids from the baby's face, guilt washing over him as he could only think of what kind of life this kid would have. If he could save them all he would, but he didn't have the right things to raise a child.

The baby shared a resemblance to Bucky more than the other father, whoever that was. It's crying soon quieted down to soft whimpers. Steve was waiting, just as Steve was, for the scientists to come in and take the baby, though they didn't seem to be in any hurry.

Steve pressed a soft kiss to Bucky's cheek before slowly running his hand over the baby's damp hair. "You did good Buck, you did good" Since Bucky seemed comfortable for the moment, leaning against Steve's chest Steve didn't question the pain he had spoke about, they would handle that in a minute.

"They're just gonna take her," he said, a hint of sadness in his time as he noticed that the first baby was a girl. "They-" But he was interrupted when two guards came into the room, one stepping up to Bucky and gently taking the baby from his arms before marching back out, the door being securely shut behind them once more. Bucky swallowed nervously, leaning back against Steve and all ready to fall asleep. "Well... That's one..." he remarked solemnly.

Steve looks at him for a second or two before lightly kissing his hair "Get some rest, it's not like I'm going anywhere" Steve watches the door as Bucky finally drifts off. He wanted to hurt them, every single Hydra agent in this place he wanted dead. And if he had his way, they would be when he got out of here, him and Bucky.
