Stephan was positively panicking. He searched through the house and spotted the smashed window. The obvious signs of struggle in the living room was not a good sign at all. Stephan knew his husband was a fighter and a fierxce one, but with two young chilsren and being pregnant himself, there was more at stake than ever. He alerted the higherups and a lot of agents flocked in, though Stephan still felt like being engulfed slowly in despeeation his mind just kept on providing horrible images and possibilities to make things even worse.
The twins were found after quite a bit of searching both hidden in the hall way closet, they had been quite the whole time but were shaking with fear even the normally brave Phoenix clinnged to Stephan draconis silently sitting next to them neither of them had uttered a word even when asked questions by the others and Talon was no where to be found.
Finding the twins had been a huge relief and even though Stephan was still very worried, knowing his children were alright had been a great console. He wrappes Phoenix close and collected the quiet Draconis near, holding them tight to his own body. He knew better than to press them for information and had requested the agents to call Susan. They would need some familiar faces now to calm down and he murmurred soothing words to the kids.
Susan would arrive just a few minutes latter. "What happened here?" She said stepping in looking around at all the people and the two scared children wrapped up in Stephan's arms tightly. "Is everything ok?" she hadn't been given much information over the phone she was simply told to come quickly and that it was important.
"It's... yes everything will be alright. Susan thank you so much for coming at such short notice. Would you be so kind as to get them their milk just before bed, just as what they always had before bed?" He asked Susan, still holding his children close. Mge spoke with a determination and steainess to reassure himself that everything would indeed be alright.
With the help of Susan, he had auccessfully gotten the kids to calm down. He then attempted to find some information from the children, who was starting to doze a bit. "Buddies can you tell me what happened? And where is papa?"
There was silence for a moment and surprisingly it was Draconis who spoke up. "There were big things with glowing eyes and blue skin and they were really fast! We stayed hiding like he told us and the things didn't find us cause papa led them away I think." He spoke quickly but it was easily to tell what he had just described. before now they had been assuming it was humans who had broken in but Draconis had just perfectly described an alien attack.
Stephan was somehow a bit relaxed knowing Talon had been dealing with aliens that were their old enemy. He would have the experience and knowledge to combat them, in a certain twisted way it would be better than facing human. He hugges the twins tight and said "thanks so much buddies. You two are both so great and so good to have listened and followed what papa said. Now daddy will make sure papa comes back quickly ok?" He kissed both kids on their forehead and added. "Now go to sleep kiddos, Aunt Susan is here too and you two will be watched over in your sleep ok?" Stephan settled both kids on their beds and watch them slept before getting ready to go look for Talon himself.
It would seem after a bit of looking that Talon had gotten the kids safe then led the thing back down the stairs tossing down the book shelf to slow it as well as the chair and then led it out the front door away from the kids. He hadn't wanted them to be hurt. but beyond that it was unclear as to what might have happened no one said they had seen anything of course this wasn't uncommon the aliens could change memories people could forget they had ever even seen them.
Stephan had sneaked away past the agents who still looked clueless in the living room. He had been quickly thinking about possible places that Talon would go if they were in their combat days back then and quickly chose a direction. Stephan had asked Susan to tell the agnets about his departure 1 hour later if he still hadnt come back.
A long time ago Talon had once mentioned how he preferred to fight them in high places because it was harder for more to come without him knowing and besides the Alien's didn't seem to climb vary well. Thats where he had gone, past his own fire escape to the next on to the rooftops where he could gain ground and come up with a plan. Despite being pregnant Talon was still quick enough on his feet unfortunately the fight had not been without consequences. Stephan would find the Alien dead in an alleyway it had a knife mark to the chest and looked as if it had been shoved off.
The remains of the alien and the knife mark were clear enough signs that Talon had been fighting and Stephan looked up the building. He jumped and was a bit pleased to find himswlf still in shape and could easily reach the fire escape. He heaved himself up and climbed the stairs, eager for more clues of his husband's whereabouts on the roof.
At the rooftop there was one other dead Alien it was dark up here and there was little light so it was hard to see once he stepped away from the fire escape. Suddenly something grabbed him pulling him to the side, it was Talon he clamped a hand over Stephan's mouth so he wouldn't scream and didn't move it until he had stopped squirming. He made a motion for Stephan to remain quiet a pointed to the other side of the rooftop where there had been 2 other Aliens. It wouldn't have been so had except these two had come prepared with blasters.
Stephan met eyes with Talon, he knew now wasnt the time for sensations and he just bumped fist with Talon to show his relief. He looked at the aliens and assessed the situation. He could see faintly the balsters and used the set of hand gesutres they often use to explain his plan. He took off his shirt and hid a shaped it like a head. He would place it somewhere discreet while Talon would produce some distraction on the other far side. He woukd then sneak up to one of the closer aliens from behind and disarm it.
Talon nodded and they moved quickly the plan seemed to work they created the distraction but the Aliens not sure where to look where distracted long enough for Stephan to take out one and grab the blaster. However the 2nd Alien seemed to get what was happening and before Stephan could take him out he pointed his blaster at Talon. Now they were stuck. If Stephan fired the Alien could shoot talon and if the Alien fire Stephan could could shoot the Alien but there was a large risk here either way.
Stephan glanced at Talon, exchanging a subtle gesture and in Stephan whistled suddenly, Talon ducked to the left side and Stephan shoot. They hadnt needed to test their synchronization like this for a long time but it proved that even after a few years, their trainings and ywars of cooperation still paid off. Stwphan approached the aliens carefully, stabbing them again for good measures before proceeding to wrap Talon tight in his arms.
once it was over he wasn't as calm as he had been he was shaking slightly gripping tightly to Stephan holding him close. "I-im sorry I don't mean to leave the kids alone but I didn't know what else to do and I didn't want the hurt, are they alright? Are you alright?" He spoke quickly looking back at Stephan worried he would be mad but Talon had done the only thing he could think of to do.
"Shh...it's alright. The kids are fine. You have done so well in protecting our children. You are amazing Talon..." Stephan smiled and wrapped Talon tight. "Ya I am fine, are you alright? Are you both alright?" He parted a bit from Talon and covered his little belly and asked.
"Fine, mostly.. just.." there was a cut on his left shoulder likely from the claws of the Alien he had shoved off the roof. Talon held Stephan close to him again. "We should head back shouldn't we? .. I'm just glad everything alright.
"Ya.. let's get to home now." Stephan was unaware of the wound until he wrapped his arms aeound the shoulder of Talon and heard his hiss and felt the wetness. He furrowed his brows and quietly wnet to retrieve his jackrt and pressed down on it. "We needed to get it attended fast. It was still bleeding now, must be a deep cut." They went on to leave the roof. Stephan felt the trembling of Talon and any trace amount of annoynace and anger left from the recklessness of Talon was wiped away. Stephan thought what he should do now was not to get mad at his love but cherish their safe reunion.
He let Stephan go first but and climbed down the fire escape paying as little attention as possible to the pain in his shoulder as he did. By the time they got back to the house Talon was tired, he had managed to fight off two of them before Stephan had showed up but the Adrenalin was fading and once back home he made it about as far at the kitchen table before he had to sit. He slid off his jacket letting Stephan look at the wound in the light. It went from his shoulder to a ways across his chest, it wasn't bleeding fast but it was still dripping in the area it had been cut the deepest closest the shoulder.
