"No, this hotel's too nice to worry about that. It's just..." Trian thought for a moment. "The soap sucks."
"Really? I can pick some up on the way back from getting the food then."
"Yeah, Could you?" Trian asked.
"Ok," Jeremy said. "I'll get the stuff for sensitive skin."
"Well, I wouldn't say my skin is sensitive... Forget it."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, just get some of that rosy scented soap. I like that one."
"Ok," Jeremy said. He headed out to get the food and soap.
Once Jeremy was gone, Trian took the opportunity to scream into his pillow. He rolled over onto his side and looked at Kiba. "Kiba, why is your owner so nice? And cute? And just..." Trian sighed. "Do dogs ever feel like this?"
Kiba lifted his head and tilted it while wagging his tail.
"You're lucky, fluffy. You'll never know the pain. The pain of longing as I do."
Kiba trotted over and hopped up on the bed.
Trian gave Kiba a big hug. "I shouldn't feel this way. It can't work between us. But..." He sighed.
Kiba licked Trian's face.
"Why do I have to feel this way?! Why?!" Trian exclaimed.
Kiba whimpered and licked Trian's face.
"Thank you, Kiba. Your support means a lot." Trian scratched the dog behind his ears.
Kiba let out a happy bark and nuzzled Trian.
Trian reached into his bag and pulled out his distress signal, and started working on it.
Kiba settled beside the alien, wagging his tail whenever the man looked at him. His ears perked up when he heard Jeremy unlock the door and come in with two bags of Chinese food.
