Delas ate his food quietly. "The lay didn't mention how long Astien would be asleep. What if he's in a coma now?"
"We're going to meet up with a friend of his soon," Cormac said. "Hopefully he can help us once we get there if Astien isn't awake by then."
Marius nodded. "We should let him rest for now."
Delas looked sad. "Hhmmmm. Who was his friend? He's a healer, right?"
"I think so," Marius said. "What was his name again?"
"Ug...I should know," Cormac muttered. "You remember where we're going right?"
Marius nodded and finished his meal. "Clean up when you're done. I'm going to get us moving." He finished dressing warmly and went outside.
Delas looked sad. "I hope he wakes up soon. There was a guy back in the village I lived in as a kid. He fell asleep once and never woke up."
"He'll wake up," Cormac assured Delas. He gathered up the dishes when they finished eating. "How about you play some music? I'm sure Astien would like that." He started cleaning up.
Delas picked up his guitar again, and began playing something soft. After a moment, he started playing loud, hard music instead. "Astieeen! Yeeeaaaah, wake your ass up!"
Cormac chuckled. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine," he began to sing in a solemn tone. "You make me happy when skies are grey. You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away. The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping. I dreamt I held you in my arms. When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken. So I hung my head, and I cried. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away. I'll always love you and make you happy. If you will only say the same, but if you leave me to love another, you'll regret it all one day. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away. Please don't take my sunshine away."
Delas rocked hard on his guitar, until one of his strings broke. "My g string!"
(OMG XD)

"Hm..." Cormac said as he dried his hands and put on the salve. "That's unfortunate." He sat in the chair next to Astien's bed and took out his ocarina and began playing a light hearted and lively tune.
Delas put down his guitar sadly. "My g string..." He walked to Astien's bedside and sat on the floor. He started poking Astien's belly, watching Aiden move in response. "Ooh. It's mesmerizing to watch..."
Cormac nodded and brought his song to an end. "Aiden's pretty active. He's probably hungry though." Cormac touched Astien's belly. "Hanging in there Aiden?"
"Probably. But the only way we could feed him is if we, I don't know, put some kind of tube down his throat or nose."
"That sounds dangerous," Cormac said. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "If we walked together I could have protected him."
"Probably not. Those guys know the night better than anyone. They would have bit and run either way." Delas rolled his head back and sighed. He brought his tail into his hand and ran his fingers trough the hair. "There has to be some way we can wake him up. Also, I need to restring my guitar."
"I guess." Cormac looked through the books, searching for some sort of concoction that could be used to wake Astien up if need be.
"We should find that healer lady. Pri'Za? She's a specialist. She would probably know more than us."
"She would, but she said to let Astien rest. Turning him back probably took a lot out of him. I was only half and I was knocked out for a while."
"I guess. But I don't know…" Delas climbed into the top bunk and pulled his blanket over himself. He hung his head over the bedside and peered down at Astien. "I wonder what being pregnant feels like?"
"Back pain and swollen ankles," Cormac said. "And a little person inside of you kicking your insides. Astien says there's more pleasant parts, though."
